when we paas CO2 in Lime water Ca(OH)2
it becomes milky white, reaction involved is
Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O
If we still continue passing Lime water , the milky white color disappears because of production of calcium bicarbonate which is soluble in water. the reaction involved is
CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 = Ca(HCO3)2
it becomes milky white, reaction involved is
Ca(OH)2 + CO2 = CaCO3 + H2O
