Given :- When Charlotte left her house this morning, her cell phone was 30% charged and it then started to lose 2.5% charge for each hour thereafter. Write an equation for B in terms of t, representing the charge remaining in Charlotte's battery, as a percentage, t hours after Charlotte left her house. ?
Solution :-
given that,
→ charge in battery in the phone when Charlotte left her house this morning = Let B = 30% .
→ charge in battery losing per hour = 2.5%
→ Time for which she remains out of the house = Let t hours .
So,
→ in hour chaege in battery loose = 2.5%
then,
→ in t hours charge in battery will loose = 2.5 * t = 2.5t % .
Therefore,
→ Left charge in battery in the phone after t hours = Battery in the phone when Charlotte left her house - battery loose in t hours
→ Left charge in battery in the phone after t hours = 30% - 2.5t% = (30 - 2.5t)% .
Hence,
→ charge remaining in Charlotte's battery ,t hours after Charlotte left her house is = (30 - 2.5t)% .
And,
→ Required equation :-
- B = (30 - 2.5t)% .
