When CO2 is passed through it it turns milky due to the formation of calcium carbonate. But when excess CO2 is passed , the milkiness disappears because the calcium carbonate is converted to calcium bicarbonate.
Ca(OH)2+CO2----CaCO3+ H2O
2.CaCO3+CO2+ H20---Ca(HCO3)2

kiranpranay12pbdiik: Ca(OH)2  + CO2     CaCO3  + H2O
kiranpranay12pbdiik: CaCO3 + CO2  + H2O     Ca(HCO3)2

kiranpranay12pbdiik: CaCO3 + CO2  + H2O     Ca(HCO3)2
