Similarly salt can be separated from water by boiling it. But actually it's a chemical change. Bcoz the Na+ & Cl- ions bonded with each other. So in this stage there is a chemical reactions takes place. But sugar in water is a physical activity. Bcoz after combining the sugar molecules get scattered in water surface. So sugar in water is a physical process
