When Copper reacts with nitric acid then it forms copper nitrate and hydrogen gas liberates..

The reaction is as follows;

Cu+ 2HNO3 ===>>> Cu(NO3)2 + H2

Means :

Copper + Nitric acid===>> copper nitrate + hydrogen

Thanks....
