d) iron sulphate is the new substance.

  1. Reaction of copper sulphate with iron is single displacement reaction.
  2. Chemical reaction of copper sulphate and iron is as follows -
  3. CuSO4(aq) + Fe(s) --> FeSO4(aq) + Cu(s)
  4. Copper ion is reduced into metallic form. Iron is oxidised to ferrous ion.
  5. The colour of iron changes to red brown layer and blue colour solution changes to green colour.
