Heya !!!

CASE 1
=========

when the copper vessel is exposed in air, in the presence of air there is coating of black colour substance on copper due to formation of copper oxide.

where is reaction that show the corrosion of copper :-

Cu ( s ) + O2 (g ) ==> CuO ( copper oxide )

===================================
or

CASE -2
==========

when the copper is kept in atmosphere it react with various gases like carbon dioxide Oxygen and water vapour

this cause corrosion of copper !!

here is reaction that shows the corrosion of copper in atmosphere

Cu ( s ) + Co2 + H20 + O2 ===> CuCo3 . Cu (OH ) 2

when the copper in atmosphere react with carbon dioxide Oxygen and water there is formation of basic copper carbonate.

here there is formation of basic copper carbonate which is green in colour.

hope it helps you dear!!!

thanks !!!

have a pleasant day !!!
