When current is switched on and switched off in a coil a current will be induced in the other coil kept near to the first coil, this happens due to the electromagnetic induction. When current is flow in a coil a flux in produced around the conductor and when the other coil kept near this coil then that flux also link other coil and hence an emf is induced in the second coil too which lead to the flow of current in another coil.
