A multitude of fungal infections are exceedingly common in HIV and AIDS patients, many of which have cutaneous manifestations. Dermatophyte infection and mucosal candidiasis make up the vast majority of fungal infections in this population. In fact, 90% of HIV-positive patients have oral or vulvovaginal candidiasis.
