Evelyn Glennie is a multi-percussionist, who became profoundly deaf at the age of twelve. She started to develop the symptoms of deafness at the age of eight, when her mother called her name and she did not respond. Her ability to hear stopped gradually from the age of eight till she became profoundly deaf at twelve.
