Khwaja Moinuddin came to India in 1191. He came just when Sultan Shihabuddin Mohd. Ghori lost in a war against Raja Prithiviraj Chauhan.

Khwaja was a Persian Muslim philosopher and Muslim preacher. He settled down in India in the beginning of the 13th century. He encouraged his followers to use music in their hymns and devotional songs to God. It is believed that he came to India from Sistan.
