I think the authors message is to never give up and trust in your instincts and your own judgement for example like Lalda did she always did the checks and trusted her intincts thinking that the ship was getting closer o the sun and later found out that there really was something wrong with the autopilot and that she was right after all, so that is why I think this is the author's message
