In 1987 china started manufacturing telephones and in 2008 started mobile phones were manufactured and were provided by 3 companies:-
1)GSM service from China Mobile
2)GSM and CDMA service (begun in 2002) from China Unicom.
3)PHS service from the two fixed phone companies: China Netcom and China Telecom
