When did the grandmother realise the worth and value of being literate?(Based on the story "how i taught my grandmother to read")

when her granddaughter went to attend a marriage and there was no one to read kashiyatre for her and she didn't able to read story herself bcoz she was illiterate and she felt embarrassed to at asking the villagers to read it for her this incident made her realize importance of education

Her granddaughter used to read her the novel kashiyatre which was her favourite.While her granddaughter was away for a wedding ,the weekly issue of the novel came .Krishtakka desperately wanted to know what happened next in the stoey but as she could not read and write she was not able to read the story.She thought it was embarassing to ask another person to read her the story.That is when she realised the worth and value of being literate.
