Indigo cultivation in the Bengal during the British rule ,is one of the biggest initiatives of the Britishers in our country.
Cultivators were given loans forcefully to harvest indigo in minimum 25% of their harvesting lands.
But indigo harvesting decreased the land fertility and the price given by the Britishers were very less not justified.
That's why the indigo cultivation came down in the Bengal.
