If we are talking about universal suffrage, it was granted on April the 21th, 1944. Quite ironically, the infamous Vichy government came quite close to do so a few years earlier.
That being said, during the Middle Ages, French women were allowed to vote in elections such as the Estates General. During the 16th century it was then restricted to women who were head of their families. After the Revolution, women were classed as “passive citizens” and were barred from voting.
