When displacement of a moving body negative?I illustrate it.Can the distance travelled by the body be negative?

No the distance travelled by a body cant be negative bcz distance is the actual path covered by a body in any time and distance travelled cannot be decrease but displacement can be negative. Diatance is a scalr quantity while displacement is vector quantity. And when u plot the graph of distance w.r.t. Time it will always increaseswhile displacement- time graph can be decreases or increases.

Explanation:At t=0, position of the object is at some distance. When it returns to origin (0,0) the distance will increase further ( but displacement will decrease). So the distance cannot be negative.
