there are many festivals that are unique to this region. Bihu is the most important festival of Assam. It can be broadly divided into three categories: bohag Bihu: which celebrates the hope for a good harvest because this is the time when farmers starts sowing , Kati Bihu: which months the cutting and binding of crops and magh Bihu: which marks the season of harvesting. They celebrate it around 14-15 April in the coming of April.
