  • displacement can be said as distance but distance can't be said as displacement
  • displacement is the shortest distance to reach a point to another point

in the above picture the yellow line is the displacement and the green line is distance

any way that leads to the destination is known as distance

so it's only possible to have same magnitude for distance and displacement when we say the displacement as distance
