Explanation:

A person suffering from myopia or near-sightedness can see nearby object but cannot see distant (far off) objects distinctly.

In a myopic eye, the image of a distant object is formed in front of the retina and not at the retina itself. To correct a myopic eye, person has to use spectacle of concave lens.

A person suffering from hypermetropia or far sightedness can see distant object but cannot see nearby object distnctly. In a hypermetropic eye, the image of a nearby object is formed behind the retina and not at the retina itself. To correct a hypermetropic eye,the person has to use spectacles of convex lens
