when an object changes its direction or path or displaces from one place to another place when a certain force is applied on it .

work = force × displacement.

Work is said to be done when force is applied on an object moves through a distance in the direction of application of force. 

 

   It is same as the product of force and displacement.

Work done = Force x Displacement 

 

             OR

      W = F x S
