Work is said to be done when force is applied on an object moves through a distance in the direction of application of force.

    It is same as the product of force and displacement.

Work done = Force x Displacement

              OR

       W = F x S

Work.

Explanation:

There are two conditions that must be satisfied in order to get the work done. These are the following:

  • Force applied on the object.
  • There must be displacement in the object.

Therefore, work is said to be done when force is applied on an object due to which the object moves through a distance in the direction of the applied force.
