When we want to find out what time someone leaves their house to go to school, we would ask "What time do you leave for school?"
rather than "What time do you go to school?" because the latter is ambiguous--it could mean "What hours are you in school?"
How about "What time do you go to work?" I heard that quite frequently when I was in America. I don't think people often said "What time do you leave for work?"
But is it better to say the latter because the former could also be understood as "What hours are you at work?"
