When the small 2 after an element tells you there are 2 atoms of particular element in each
molecule for example water

Because it is actually (OH)₂ which means OH x OH
To prevent confusion else you may make it O+(H x H) [O(H₂)]

nonokinamp90y58: y'all Indians hella smart! Thanks!
fine2006: please mark it as brainliest
nonokinamp90y58: but why dont you add brackets near Na2CO3 or NaHCO3
fine2006: because it is NaHC(O3) and here it was Ca((OH)2)
nonokinamp90y58: oh okay, thanks
