So, two quantities, x and y would be inversely proportional, if an increase in the value of x leads to a proportional decrease in the value of y and vice versa. The speed and time of a journey is one example.

When x gets increased and y gets decreased.

ᴇxᴀᴍᴘʟᴇ :

For example you are travelling by car. If you increase the speed ( Which is x ) then the time(which is y ) decreases.
