Explanation:

Following are the two theories on the Origin of Life:-

• Theory of Spontaneous generation: According to this theory, life originated from natural spontaneous generation of the living organisms from the non-living matter present on the earth. However. this concept was experimentally disproved by Louis Pasteur among many other scientists.
• Theory of Chemical Evolution or Oparin-Haldane Hypothesis:-Oparin of Russia and Haldane of England proposed that the first form of life could have come from pre-existing non-living organism molecules(e.g RNA, protein etc) and that formation of life was preceded by chemical evolution i.e, the formation of diverse organic molecules from inorganic constituents.
