when does a alcohol act as nucleophile and electrophile​

Alcohols are versatile compounds. They react both as nucleophiles and electrophiles. The bond between O–H is broken when alcohol react as nucleophiles. The adjacent element or ion is the factor on which the property of alcohol depends .
