Explanation:
A desire can be described as something one wishes to have, regardless of his/her needs and wants. Therefore, one can lack food but still desire sex, or one may lack a home but always desire to be in a luxurious cruise. On the other hand, a want is something one does not need but will make an individual's life better. A desire, therefore, becomes a want when there is a particular purpose and need for what one desires along when one has fulfiled all their basic wants. One may want to buy a car to help in conducting business to fulfil their desires thus would feel incomplete without these desire.
