(i) When a person is suffering from acute breathing problem or cannot be able to breathe naturally, artificial breathing is required.

(ii) Artificial respiration is a temporary arrangement which provides relief to the person who cannot be able to breathe properly. Artificial respiration is provided permanently only to the patients who are in coma and cannot breathe of their own.

(iii) In artificial respiration a cylinder filled with oxygen remains attached to the machine from where the supply of oxygen comes for respiration.
