when does aerobic respiration takes place in human

subermani7: Anaerobic respiration also takes place in muscles of the human body. The by product of such respiration is lactic acid which is considered to be the substance that causes fatigue. In the same cells where the aerobic respiration takes place.. Except that it doesn't need a Mitochondria.

In red blood corpuscles and muscles.

It is happening in places where mitochondria are not present. In humans, red blood corpuscles do not have mitochondria, that's why anaerobic respiration always happens in RBCs.

But in muscle cells, when there is a lack of oxygen, it happens as a result of the fact that lactic acid is produced.

hey,

In the same cells where the aerobic respiration takes place..

Except that it doesn't need a Mitochondria.. Cytoplasm is all that's needed.

So,

1.Any normal cell who is devoid of oxygen (say legs, by sitting long on chair in one position), anaerobic respiration takes place.

2.Cancer cells who never seem to have enough blood for their enormous expansion plans, show anaerobic respiration.

3.Any microorganism, that do not possess a mitochondria or equivalents, must be anaerobic only.
