When does aids occur? what are some of the common signs that the infection has progressed to aids?

aids is caused by a virus called HIV( humanimmunodeficiency virus) . the virus can get into the human body by mating with a partner having aids or contact with infected blood or sharing drug needle with someone who is infected with HIV

symptoms can be estimated by flu- like illness that occurs for 2-3 weeks

AIDS which is otherwise called the Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome is caused when the body of a human being is affected by a virus namely the Human Immuno Deficiency Virus (HIV). This virus affects the T cells of the body and completely depletes them.  

The T cells are responsible for the immunity of the body against various types of diseases. Thereby due to the depletion of the T cells by the disease, the diseased human will become prone to any infection which comes on his way.
