If we were to look at the concentration of the cell that is basically lower than that of hypertonic or the external solution, then exosmosis takes place.

If the concentration of the cell remains higher when compared to the hypotonic then endosmosis takes place.

Exosmosis is the process through which the water molecules move out of the cell.

Endosmosis is the process through which water molecules enter a cell.

Exosmosis is the transfer of solvent from the inside to the outside of the cell through a plasma membrane when the cell is placed in a hypertonic solution with more solute and less solvent.
