When does ice float on the surface of water?

Ice floats on surface of water because it's density is less than that of water.

In the summer season .Because in the winter season the water gets frost so when the summer season starts it gets melting slowly due to the heat emitted by the Sun. So ice float on the surface of water in summer.........
