When does incomplete combustion occur?

Incomplete combustion takes place because of insufficient supply of oxygen.

Water is formed during combustion along with carbon monoxide and carbon.

Usually the carbon is released as soot.

This reaction is very dangerous because carbon monoxide is considered to be one of the most poisonous gases.
