The iron object get corroded when exposed to air and moisture. it forms a reddish brown layer which is known as rust (Fe2O3.xH2O). The surface of iron object that is in contact with air and moisture gets deteriorated and converts into a flaky substance. The rate of rusting generally increases in the presence of acidic gas like carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide etc..
So, for that purpose we have to do coating on iron object...
