When doing the mass spec for 4-methyl-heptane the base peak occurs at 43 which is a secondary carbocation instead of at 71 which is a tertiary carbocation. I thought the base peak was always gonna be the most stable ion created, so why is the secondary ion the base peak here?​

Sea water is a mixture of salts and water which cannot be separated except by evaporation. Therefore, sea water is considered homogeneous.

Sea water also contains mud, decayed plant, etc., other than salts and water, so it is heterogeneous also.
