Hello!

Here is your answer!
==========================================================

As H2SO4 or Sulpuric acid is a strong dehydrating agent ethanol gets dehydrated and  forms ethene gas.

Sulphuric acid acts only as a catalyst.

Catalyst is a substance that increases the rate of a chemical reaction without being consumed in the process.

The water or H2O  produced from the reaction gets mixed with sulphuric acid (H2SO4) and it gets diluted.

Equation: C2H5OH  ----------------------------------------------------- >  C2H4 + H2O

                              excess of H2SO4 & high temperature 443K

Hope it helps!
