i will try but i am not sure ....
Ca(OH)2+ CO2 ------- CaCO3 +H2O
now this Product will react with excess of CO2 to form back Ca(OH)2
CaCO3+H2O + CO2(excess) ------ Ca(OH)2 + 2CO2 (gas)
Ca(OH)2+ CO2 ------- CaCO3 +H2O
now this Product will react with excess of CO2 to form back Ca(OH)2
CaCO3+H2O + CO2(excess) ------ Ca(OH)2 + 2CO2 (gas)

Answer:
When the excess carbon dioxide gas is passed through the lime water, it turns milky first due to the formation of the calcium carbonate as a precipitate which is insoluble in water and then become colorless due to the formation of calcium bicarbonate.
