Given,

Fresh fish dries to ⅓ of it's weight.

Weight of fresh fish = 24 kg

Cost price of fresh fish = Rs. 150/kg

Selling price of dried fish = Rs. 500/kg

To find,

The earning or the profit of the deal.

Solution,

First of all, we have to calculate the weight of the dried fish.

Weight of the dried fish = 24 × ⅓ = 8 kg

Total cost price = 24×150 = Rs. 3600

Total selling price = 8×500 = Rs. 4000

Earnings or profit of the deal = Cost price - Selling price = 4000-3600 = Rs. 400

Hence, his earning (or, profit) is Rs. 400
