=======================================

 we know that When goods sold at Rs240 ,a merchant gains 25%

so cost price = s.p
×100/100 + profit

                     = 240 ×100 /125

                      =>  192 rs.

 percentage would he gain by selling it fo Rs216

=>  profit =  s.p -c.p

                   = 216 - 192

                    = 24 rs

profit%= profit
×100/c.p

             = 24 × 100 / 192

             =>  12.5 %

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that When goods sold at Rs240 ,a merchant gains 25%

so cost price = s.p ×100/100 + profit

= 240 ×100 /125

=> 192 rs.

percentage would he gain by selling it fo Rs216

=> profit = s.p -c.p

= 216 - 192

= 24 rs

profit%= profit ×100/c.p

= 24 × 100 / 192

=> 12.5 %
