When hydra is sliced into annular segments, we see two identical divisions. Both parts will be symmetrical. Secondly, hydra has an ability to regenerate which means both sliced parts of hydra can grow into two new hydra.

This is called regeneration. Simple organisms like hydra are able to undergo such activity in their body.
