Let the number be X

when we add 2 it becomes

\large{x+2}

then we multiply the number by 5

\large{5(x+2)}

\large{5x+10}

The result comes out to be 30, then it is

\large{5x+10=30}

\large{5x=30-10}

\large{5x=20}

\large{x=20/5}

The number is

\large{\bold{\boxed{verification}}}

\large{5x+10=30}

\large{5(4)+10=30}

\large{20+10=30}
