when I triple a certain number and 2,I get the same answet as I do when I subtract the nunber from 50. Find the number.

So
According to question
X-2= y
X=y+2.         ------ let eqn 1
And
3y= x+4.      ------- let eqn 2

Put x=y+2 in eqn 2
Therefore,
3y = (y+2)+4
2y = 6
Y= 3

Put y = 3 in eqn 1

X=y+2
X=3+2
X=5

X=5 is the answer

then,
3x+2 = 50-x
= 3x+X = 50-2
=. 2x= 48
=. X=24

therefore, the number= 24
