When I was 4 years old, my brother was 2 years old. (It is given that my brother is half my age at that time.)

Now, I am 18 years old. That means there is a gap of 14 years between now and then.

That in turn means my brother is also 14 years older than when he was 2 years old.

This implies that he is 14+2 = 16 years old.

Solution :-

When you were 4 years old, your brother was half your age.

It means your brother was 2 years old.

There is a difference of 2 years (4 - 2 = 2) between you and your brother's age.

Your present age = 18 years

Then, Your brother's present age will be = 18 - 2 = 16 years
