The path of the refracted ray inside the prism is in the minimum deviation position when the refracted ray is parallel to the base of the prism and the prism is an equilateral prism.

In the minimum deviation position, the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of emergence. That is, i1=i2i1=i2.
