when ice at -10 degree celsius slowly heated ,temperature of ice gradually increases till at 0 degree celsius,the temperature of the system remains constant when the ice changes into water and then further rises. explain the observation

this is because during the change of state , the heat energy supplied to the substance is absorbed by the particles to overcome the force of attraction between them and they start moving freely by changing its state. since all the hear energy is used to change state no rise in temperature is seen. when ice turns to water the temperature starts rising again.
