When ice is heated the temperature dose not increase and remains constant until all the ice is melted . Explain (2marks)

For the pure water the melting point is 0 degree for all the pure water all around you.

Till all the water in the ice is not melted how will the temperature change before the full process of melting the water in ice to the liquid state.

When u heat an ice, initially at a temp. less than 0° C gets reduced to a temp. of 0° C and gets fixed, here the kinetic energy of the molecules gets transferred to its potential energy, which invokes the change in state,i.e., from ice to water,

This phenomenon is known as The Latent Heat of Fusion where the heat is actually hidden.......
