when indigo is cultivated after that why rice cannot be cultivated in the same field?????

when indigo is grown in a particular field rice wheat or any crop cannot be grown on it because once indigo is grown it makes the land very infertile due to which any other plant cannot be grown on it.

It's because Indigo, has almost sucked up all the minerals from the soil, and therefore Rice, which needs a real whole lot of minerals to grow, cannot be cultivated.
