◆ Experiment to show sunlight is necessary for photosynthesis -

• For this experiment, leaf is first destarched so that no starch remains in the leaf.
• Now some part of leaf is covered with black paper and other is kept open to sunlight for few days.
• After few days, starch test is done on leaf to detect photosynthesis.
• If starch is present, leaf will turn into blue-black color.
• If starch is absent, original color of iodine is retained.
