It is because the process of rusting can be successful only when the two substances (iron and oxygen) come in direct contact with each other which is not possible in our bodies. As we know, oxygen is required in our body for the production of energy in our body through the process of respiration. And, iron is present in our body in the form of nutrients absorbed by food items we consume which are rich in iron like citrus fruits and leafy vegetables. As they are present in forms very apart from each other, the process of rusting is impossible in our bodies. If it was possible, we could have died.
